Raytheon Missile Systems Receives Top Security Score

Tucson Site Achieves Sixth Consecutive Superior Rating

Raytheon Company's (NYSE: RTN) Missile Systems business received its sixth consecutive superior security rating from the Defense Security Service. Missile Systems achieved a score of 851, just 14 points shy of perfect. DSS awarded the score and rating after a week-long audit of the Tucson, Arizona, plant site.

A superior rating is reserved for contractors that have consistently and fully implemented requirements of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual. The facility must have documented procedures that heighten the security awareness of employees, a sustained high level of management

Supporting national security and the military, DSS is responsible for approximately 13,000 cleared contractor facilities. The agency ensures the security of the nation's technological base and oversees the protection of U.S. and foreign classified information in industry. Fewer than four percent of the facilities DSS oversees receive a superior rating.
